UMCOR Kit Challenge

Our next project for UMCOR is to assemble kits that provide basic necessities to those who are most vulnerable during times of crisis. Hygiene and Menstrual Kits (Period Packs) are distributed during disasters, whether socio-economic or as the result of a natural occurrence.

Our goal is to assemble 50 kits total by April 16 (the Sunday after Easter.)

Each type of kit costs between $15 and $25 per kit to assemble. We provide you with the list of required items. Stick to the list! Did you know these kits standardized and agreed upon by multiple international relief agencies? This means that they can be distributed all around the world in nearly every circumstance, without concern that something is missing or that there is anything extra that might potentially cause a problem. It means they don’t need to spend precious time negotiating with governments to provide the kits because the governments trust what’s in them.

We’ll have a table in Fellowship Hall to collect the assembled kits.

If you prefer to make a financial donation towards the cost of contents of the kits, please make your check out to Morristown UMC and write UMCOR kits in the memo line. Checks may be placed in the offering plate or brought/mailed to the church office. You may also donate online – choose the type of kit you’d like to support in the drop-down box.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

All items must be new. Do not wash any of the items as they will no longer be considered new.

Do not include any personal notes, money, or additional materials in the kits.

Contents of kits or the containers of kits should not be imprinted with cartoon characters, advertisements, religious, patriotic, military or camouflage symbols
