Hello, hi and also oh, hey, I didn’t see you there!
Writing an introductory bio always feels a little strange to me. Also writing that sentence, which makes it sound like I do this twice monthly. Anyway, I’m forced to wonder, “What do you want to know about me? What will you find interesting, and what will make you wrinkle your nose? And how do I do this at all without making it read like I’m preparing to audition for a reality show?”
Oh, hey! Maybe there’s my point of entry. I can seize onto that concern and tell you that I’m not particularly fond of reality shows, but I am more than a little attached to The Great British Baking Show. Now we’re cooking! (Pun unintended but fitting.) What else? Other things that I’m attached to/like very much include: sports (I watch *almost* anything, including Australian Rules Football); Doctor Who, Harry Potter (I’m a Ravenclaw, FYI); raising houseplants; being outside, cross-stitching, reading and baking. I bake a lovely scone.
Here at the church, I do all sorts of things. I like to think of myself as a facilitator. The things I do help make the ministries happen, from coordinating communication efforts to paying the bills to conspiring with anyone who wants to about how to make good, inspired ministry happen here at Morristown United Methodist. I come by that honestly, having earned degrees in Communication and Christian Education at West Virginia Wesleyan College, and a Master of Divinity from Drew.
Best wishes and warmest regards (and bonus points to those of you who get the reference!).
Regina
