We are grateful for your faithful and generous response to the financial needs of our church throughout 2025.
The gifts of your time, talents and financial resources allow us to do the work that we are committed to in our Mission Statement:
Together we nurture and inspire God’s entire beloved community to serve and transform lives.
Our Annual Giving Campaign materials were mailed last week. They include an overview of our income and expenses, as well as a Giving Intention Card to return by November 23, when we will bless the intentions during worship. You can also access them on our website.
To fully fund the ministries of the church in 2026, we need giving commitments (pledges) of $300,000.
In addition, we have a goal to have 95% of our regular givers return a giving intention card for 2026. Currently, about 25% of our regular givers do not complete a card, making it challenging to discern what funds will be available for our operating budget during the year.

God can use imperfect people to do incredible things. Jen Cowart continues her study of the very messy lives of biblical heroes—people who, like us, made mistakes but found God was able to use them in powerful ways. They all play a significant role in the biblical narrative, but their stories are far from perfect. Through the lives of rival sisters like Leah and Rachel, or sisters with very different personalities like Martha and Mary, we see God chooses to use people who don’t have it all together. Through the lives of great, but imperfect, biblical heroes like Moses, Elijah, Peter, and Paul, we see God meets us in our troubles and chooses us even if we seem unqualified.
You are invited to join us. Each Sunday at 9:15 in the Wesley room. No advanced prep is necessary. Each presentation is designed to be stand-alone, so if you have to miss a class, you will still get a lot out of each session.
Join United Women in Faith to continue our mission work with Family Promise after our successful Back-to-School Bash partnership in late August.
This time, we are supporting a holiday gift card drive to serve these families in transition.
Family Promise hosts a Holiday Fair in early December where families and individuals they serve are invited into their Central Office in Morris Plains to pick up gift cards that allow them to do their own holiday shopping. This gives families the chance to buy a few things they need and maybe even a gift for their children and loved ones for the holidays. How wonder-filled is that?
Last year, the Holiday Fair supported 55 households, including 118 children and 201 individuals who all were able to choose what worked best for their family’s needs.
Gift card donations make this possible, and Walmart gift cards offer the greatest flexibility and are easiest to use.
We will be collecting $25 Walmart gift cards or donations towards them for the families.
You can bring the gift cards to church in an envelope marked UWF. Or you can bring a check, written out to United Methodist Women, and we will buy the gift cards for you. Deadline is December 1 so that we have time to deliver the gift cards to Family Promise for their event.
Thank you for your support!
