Dinner Church

After Dinner Church, we have a Confirmation class that meets at 7pm in the Youth Lounge and a Mid-week Adult Conversation Group that meets in the Wesley Room. Curious about our mid-week offerings? Pastor Luana would love to share more information with you. Send her an email at

Spiritual Formation For Children

Children age 3-10 are invited to join our Sunday School team for  Sunday School each Sunday morning. Gather in the Sanctuary at the beginning of worship then head to the Prayground for activities designed to help children learn the stories of our faith in a positive and affirming way.

Spiritual Formation For Adults

Have you ever wondered what the Holy Land might have looked like through Jesus’s eyes? Join New York Times bestselling author Max Lucado as he takes you on an unforgettable journey following Jesus through his life on earth, giving you a chance to see the Holy Land and God’s heart for humanity in a brand-new light.

In the Footsteps of the Savior begins Sunday January 7. Jack Scharf and David Mitchell will facilitate Sunday mornings at 9am in the Wesley Room.

EarthAware Planning Meeting

There will be an EarthAware planning meeting next Sunday, January 14 after worship. We will meet in the Wesley Room.

Rummage Sale Dates

The Annual Rummage Sale to support the ASP team will be held May 4, 8 and 11, 2024. Donations will start being accepted on March 1, 2024.

2024 Giving Intention Forms

Thank you to each of you who have returned a 2024 Giving Intention Form. As we finalize our annual operating budget for this year, it is very helpful for us to have an idea of how you plan to support the ministries of the church. A number of our givers are regular donors, but without a form showing intent, we are unable to make an accurate assessment of income, which makes it challenging to determine whether we can expand programming or must make cuts to expenses. Giving intentions are not binding agreements and are confidential. Hard copies of the form are available at the Welcome Desk and at the table near the church office. Contact Regina in the office with any questions!

Human Relations Day Special Offering
Next Sunday, January 14

When we pause to discern God’s call for our lives, we can meet needs, bring healing, and continue to bring about the “beloved community” that Martin Luther King Jr. believed in.

Human Relations Day is next Sunday. As we look for opportunities to build the beloved community locally and globally, one option is through our Human Relations Day offering.

Pray and seek God’s guidance to discern how you can support outreach to communities.

Our gifts on Human Relations Day work together to empower faith-based volunteer programs, community developers and programs that work with at-risk teens.

Thank you for your generosity!

Give to the Human Relations Day Special Offering online.

Giving Envelopes for 2024

If you would like Giving Envelopes for your regular offering, (in support of the annual operating budget or Rooted and Reaching campaign) they are available on the table near the church office. The envelopes have been labeled for either weekly or monthly donations or are undated. Morristown UMC does not use an envelope numbering system; simply write your name (and updated contact information, if required) on the envelope (space is provided on the envelope for this.) We can mail you envelopes as well, just let Regina in the office know.

Congregational Visioning Summit
Sunday, February 25

Mark your calendars!  Your input is needed! An MUMC congregational “Visioning Summit” is scheduled for Sunday, February 25. Ministry Architects will facilitate an afternoon workshop to develop/update the Mission Statement, define Core Values, and draft a set of three-year revolving goals with one-year benchmarks Members of the congregation will be asked to assist in this design process as we move forward.

A page on the website is devoted to this process; you will find among other documents a copy of the Assessment Report.

Caregivers Support Group

January 8 -7:00pm – Wesley Room

Are you (or have you recently been) in a caregiving role? Are you supporting a parent, partner, child, or friend through an illness or medical uncertainty and looking for a time to talk with others who share in the challenges of caregiving?

Please join us to share experiences, resources, and challenges in an atmosphere of compassion.

United Women in Faith’s Winter Gathering

Crista Cattano will be our featured artistic leader for our Winter Gathering! She is going to help us “zendoodle!” Have you heard of it before? It’s a great way to be creative and relax during these long days of winter. If you haven’t heard of it, google “zendoodle” and check out the possibilities! Please come and join Crista and your MUMC friends for this fun time together on Saturday, February 3rd from 10:30-12:30. Art supplies will be provided. Please bring a potluck lunch type dish to share. For more information, please contact Kristin Moran at

Spring 2024 Walk to Emmaus Dates Announced

Walk to Emmaus is a three-day experience which takes a New Testament look at Christianity as a lifestyle.  It is a highly structured weekend designed to strengthen and renew the faith of Christian people, and through them their families, congregations and the world in which they live.  Emmaus is a combined effort of laity and clergy toward the renewal of the church. Many people connected to Morristown UMC have participated in Walks and count their Walks as pivotal moments in their lives. This spring, there are two opportunities for Walks:

MEN’S WALK #51 – May 2-5 at Sacred Heart Retreat Center

WOMEN’S WALK #50 – April 25-28 at Sacred Heart Retreat Center.

There will be an orientation gathering for anyone interested in learning more about Walk to Emmaus on Sunday, February 11 at 11:45am in the Wesley Room. A light lunch will be provided.
