ADVENTure in Giving

Our annual ADVENTure in Giving project, providing opportunities for alternative gift giving for the holidays is here! Look for the table in Fellowship Hall. The brochure is also available online to print and return to the office. We have a card that shows your gift –  let the church office (mumc@morristownumc.org) know you need a hard copy and we’ll be happy to mail it to you.

Reverse Advent Calendar

A Reverse Advent calendar is where you give instead of receive. We encourage everyone to collect a food item each day of Advent to support of the Interfaith Food Pantry. Copies of the list are available at the Welcome Desk and online.

Reverse Advent Calendar Handouts

Bring your collected items to church on Christmas Eve!

Word for the Weary Service

Thursday, December 21 at 6pm

For those who have experienced loss, the joy of the holiday season can often feel elusive and out of reach. If this is your experience then the Word for the Weary service is for you. Bring your grief. Bring your weariness. Bring your fatigue, and allow yourself a quiet space to reflect and draw near to God. May we find peace in our journey.

A light meal will be provided after the service and all are invited (but not required) to share in the meal in the company of one another.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service – 7:30pm

There is a place for you on Christmas Eve at Morristown United Methodist Church! We’ll have candles, the music you look forward to at Christmas with choir, organ and brass quintet Parallel Brass, along with tidings of good news and great joy! All we need is you to complete our celebration. Gather with us at 7:30pm on Christmas Eve, in-person or via our livestream on our website.

Christmas Eve Morning Worship – 10:30am

Lose yourself in a nativity tableau as we hear the story of Christ’s birth through scripture and song in this participatory service. Sing the sweet Christmas hymns that have a lullaby quality to them as we welcome Jesus into the world and our hearts.

Lessons and Carols of Epiphany
Sunday, December 31, 10:30am service

Ring in the New Year with Gospel lessons of the infancy narrative, and famous Christmas poems from Dr. Maya Angelou and Rev. Howard Thurman. Join your voice and sing those beautiful carols that take us through the Magi’s arrival, and learn from them how to be amazed!

Sunday Morning Adult Discipleship

Our Sunday morning Adult Discipleship time will resume on January 7, 2024.

Dinner Church

Dinner Church, Confirmation and Mid-week Adult Group will take a few weeks off and start up again on January 10, 2024.
