“Help Is Here” by Max Lucado
Bills pile up. Savings accounts go down. Marriages go south. Work goes off the rails. Stress goes off the charts. Suddenly, you feel powerless to calm life’s chaos. It’s all too much to take on by yourself. But pastor and bestselling author Max Lucado has great news for you—Help Is Here.
The Bible makes more than a hundred references to the Holy Spirit, and Jesus says more about the Spirit than he does about the church, marriage, finances, and the future. But do we really know the Spirit? In Help Is Here, Max will give you the tools and encouragement you need to:
- Learn who the Spirit is and how the Spirit can help
- Become joyful, enthusiastic, and empowered as you draw closer to God
- Confidently take on any difficulty with the power of the Spirit
- Discover your unique gifts and purpose to further God’s kingdom
Help Is Here reminds us that our Good Shepherd doesn’t just feed us; he leads us. He does more than correct us; he directs us. God keeps us on track—and best of all, he’s commissioned the Holy Spirit to guide us down the winding roads of life, wherever they may lead us.
You are invited to join us. Each Sunday at 9:15 in the Wesley Room. No advanced prep is necessary. Each presentation is designed to be stand-alone, so if you have to miss a class, you will still get a lot out of each session.
Coming Up in Worship: Stories That Matter
After the joy of Easter morning, we enter the season of Eastertide—a time to live into the promise of resurrection. In this new series, Stories That Matter, we will gather around the stories that shape our faith: moments of doubt and discovery, astonishment and recognition, guidance and calling, memory and mission.
Together, we will explore how resurrection is not only something we celebrate—it is something we practice. Come and discover how these stories still speak, still challenge, and still matter for our lives today.

Interfaith Food Pantry Update
Well done SOUPer Heroes!
On March 6th, our Food Pantry team delivered a donation of 725 lbs. of food collected during our SOUPer Bowl of Caring. This is a new record, second only to our Thanksgiving campaign.
As we (hopefully) leave winter behind, we are introducing our next food drive “Spring into Giving.” The Pantry is always looking ahead to anticipate future needs of their clients. The items we collect over the next few months will stock the Food Pantry with items for meals for families with young children, many of whom get breakfast and lunch in school. Once the school year has ended, there will be an extra strain on these families.
There is a new TEN MOST WANTED list of food items needed for this effort. Copies of the list can be found in the rack attached to the Food Cart.
Thank you again for your dedication to this mission.
Ten Most Wanted List for Spring into Giving:
- Cans of soup – any variety
- Tuna and other canned fish
- Cereal (low sugar)
- Peanut Butter (15-18 oz)
- Canned meals such as ravioli, stew, etc.
- 100% Fruit Juice (32 oz.)
- Canned Beans (red, pinto, white)
- Rice (1 or 2 lb. bag)
- Pasta
- Macaroni and Cheese
United Women in Faith Book Club
Join us on Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 PM in the Wesley Room. Phyllis VanderSande will lead the discussion on The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson. Based on the true Depression-era stories of the WPA’s Pack Horse Library project in East Kentucky Appalachia, the novel follows a young woman who delivers books by horse to isolated hill communities. All are welcome to attend, whether or not you have completed the book.
