Habitat for Humanity

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Habitat for Humanity is a partnership, not a giveaway program—Habitat’s homeowner families buy the houses that Habitat builds and renovates. Habitat homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor working alongside volunteers. As a result, Habitat for Humanity houses are affordable to low-income families around the world. Morristown UMC was instrumental in founding Morris Habitat for Humanity in 1985.

MUMC’s Habitat Team

So far this year the Team has had 3 team build days at the Bennett Avenue site in Randolph. This site has 4 buildings with 25 condos overall. Half of them are now complete with families moved in. Work days are typically Saturdays from 8:30–4:00 (or sooner if we complete the assigned projects early). We still have a couple of openings for our final team build day of 2023 on Saturday, December 2! We’d love for you to join.

Please reach out the MUMC Team Leader, Tom Roberts (at mumc@morristownumc.org) for a day of service AND fellowship.
