ARISE

ARISE
A Community Rooted in Love, Rising in Witness
Feeling unsettled? Longing for purpose?
Come find a space to be present, to speak hope, and to reflect the love of Christ in a world that needs it.

Open gathering | Monday nights | 8:00 PM | Chapel
Morristown United Methodist Church

What is ARISE?

ARISE is a weekly open group for anyone longing to stand for love in the face of division, fear, or despair.
In a time when many feel unsettled or uncertain, ARISE creates a space for prayer, community, and compassionate public witness rooted in the teachings of Jesus.

We gather to:

  • Reflect on Christ’s call to love our neighbor
  • Listen for the Spirit’s guidance
  • Pray for courage and peace
  • Support one another in living out our faith
  • Bear witness to hope, healing, and justice

Whether you’re a long-time churchgoer or just beginning to explore faith, you are welcome here.

Why This Matters

Why does this matter?
In the United Methodist tradition, faith is never just private. It’s social holiness—a way of loving God by loving people.

As John Wesley, taught:

“The gospel of Christ knows of no religion but social; no holiness but social holiness.”

We gather because:

  • Love is action. Jesus said, “Love one another as I have loved you.”
  • Faith is public. We are called to be a living witness to Christ’s compassion, justice, and grace.
  • Community is essential. We grow in love when we walk together.

ARISE is a small but powerful response to a big calling. It’s how we show up in the world—with courage, prayer, presence, and love.

You Are Invited
Come as you are. No prep, no pressure—just real people, real hope, real faith.

When: Mondays at 8:00 PM

Where: The Chapel, Morristown United Methodist Church
50 South Park Place, Morristown, NJ

✨ Whether you’re feeling weary, angry, hopeful, or searching, ARISE is a place for you.

Let us rise together.
In prayer. In love. In witness.

CAREGIVERS SUPPORT

MUMC’s Caregiver Group

2nd & 4th Mondays

7-8:30 p.m.

Are you an unpaid caregiver to a loved one,

friend or neighbor?

Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed?

Caregivers experience a variety of emotions whether the care is full time, part time, or even long distance. You don’t need to walk that path alone. This group may be just right for you as it includes folks in different stages of caregiving and recognizes that each experience is unique even though many share common experiences and feelings.

As facilitator, I strive to create a safe space to talk about the challenges of caregiving, learn, share ideas, support each other, and just to not feel so alone. Many view this time as important self-care.

I have been in a number of different caregiving roles with family members and friends. Part of my journey included completing a chaplaincy course where the importance of sitting with and listening were paramount to providing support to patients and to their loved ones.
