Men’s Breakfast



The Men’s Breakfast is a charter member of the General Commission on United Methodist Men which has a goal to empower the ministry of Jesus Christ through men within the congregations of the UMC. Its ministry focuses on supporting spiritual growth for men, scouting activities for youth, the distribution of the ‘Strength for Service’ devotional to service members since 1942, and prayers for those in need through the ‘Upper Room Prayer Line.’ For more details, see the General Commisson on United Methodist Men’s web site at:


We usually meet on the third Saturday of every month for breakfast except for the months of June, July, August, and December. The breakfast, which starts at 8:00 AM or at 7:45 AM when sponsoring Habitat builds, is prepared by supreme chef Lou VanderSande and the tables set up by Norman Nutt. The breakfast is usually followed by a featured speaker or a Habitat Build ‘good work’ project. Lou VanderSande is the Habitat Build Coordinator.


On Saturday, February 17, 2018, we will sponsor a talk on our ‘Church History and Artifacts’ by Virginia Lyttle, our Church Historian. Breakfast is served at 8:00 AM followed by Virginia’s presentation and tour at 9:00 A.M. She will guide us through the church to show us some of the church’s artifacts that survived the fire in 1972.
