Rev. Dr. Brandon Cho
Pastor Brandon’s real passion is motivating people to know God, love God and serve God as dynamic disciples of Jesus Christ in our ever-changing world. He describes the Christian faith as a daily practice to “Let Go and Let God.” He grew up in Honolulu and at the age of 15 felt the call to pastoral ministry in The United Methodist Church.
He earned B.A. from Hawaii Loa College. He also received Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Claremont School of Theology near Los Angeles, Ca, as well as his Master of Sacred Theology degree from Drew Theological School, Madison, NJ.
He served churches in Southern California with distinction. He served as the Santa Barbara District Superintendent, and organized 7 new churches /ministries. While serving a large membership church in Simi Valley, he led the birth of a new Hispanic Ministry which grew to be the largest Hispanic UM church in the Conference. He also served as a National Director of New Congregational Development and Leadership, and launched 39 vital new congregations and campus ministries in The UMC. In New Jersey, he pastored UM congregations in Lake Hopatcong and Blairstown.
Pastor Brandon is a NCD coach, certified regional Community of Shalom trainer, candidacy mentor, and ministry coach. Recently, he has been asked to serve as a Team Vital facilitator in the Great New Jersey Annual Conference.
He enjoys nature, traveling, music, books, and dining with good friends.
He is married to the Rev. Dr. Jennifer Cho who is currently serving as Senior Pastor at First UMC in Newton. They have two adult children, Elizabeth and Timothy.
